Weekend sweep in opening tournament

This past weekend in Hudson, New Hampshire, the future prospects of the Jr. Wolfpack dominated competition as they won the Cyclones Tournament. The first game, played against the Jr. Monarchs, was tight, but the Wolfpack were able to secure a victory 3-2 due to solid goal tending and the hard work and determination of the players. Ryan scored a sweet goal by being in the right place at the right time, right out front.  Pass out of the corner and quick release wrist shot into the upper right corner for his first Wolfpack goal.

The following day, the Wolfpack met the newly formed Wilkes Barre/ Scranton organization and skated to a convincing win; 9-4. That same afternoon, the Wolfpack played the Cyclones needing to win by at least six goals to secure the first overall seed for Sunday's crossover rounds. The Wolfpack did just that, as they won 6-0 with another strong performance from the entire team. In the first round of the crossovers, the Wolfpack once again ran into the same Cyclone team, and in a thirty minute game beat them 7-0. A few hours later the team ran into the Laconia Leafs and in a tough, scrappy game beat Laconia 4-0. The Wolfpack met a very hard nosed and skilled team in the Moose for the final game of the weekend. The game was very tight all the way through, but the team stuck together, played hard, and came out on top 3-1 to win the Cyclones Tournament Championship. "As a staff we saw a lot of positive things from the players," said Coach and General Manager Chris Cerrella, "the team seemed to be close nit group even though it isn't even a regular season roster. The chemistry and determination the players showed really said a lot about the great personalities this team had".

Next up, the Wolfpack look to have another strong weekend when they will travel to Marlborough, MA to compete in the EJHL Showcase.
