College Development Weekend - July 10th & 11th

Cromwell, CT - Great weekend of hockey in a high paced, college level environment.  The weekend was the coming together of some of the best futures talent in the northeast and beyond, including many from Canada,  with 10 college coaches at the helm.  Teamed up in groups of about 20 players each, the kids went through drill after drill, most of which most of them had never seen before.  Highly intense with everyone working to impress the coaches hoping to catch their eye as a potential recruit.

Following the morning work out the coaches hosted a player-parent briefing regarding college hockey, rules, what to expect and of course, questions and answers.  each afternoon, the squads matched up for real time action to show the coaches what they had.  Although the team Ryan played for came up short both days, he played extremely well, scoring a couple of goals and adding a couple of assist (we'll forget about hitting the post, no points for post!).

Coaching participants included coaches from Yale, Boston, University, UConn, UMass Amherst, Union, Dartmouth, Northeastern, Western New England College and of course, Chris Cerrella of the Junior Wolfpack and scout for the USHL Tri-City Thunder.
